Northline — a FIRE calculator with a card advisor built in.

Most finance trackers stop at expense logging. Northline adds two things most don't: a proper FIRE (Financial Independence, Retire Early) projection, and a card advisor that tells you which credit card to use for a purchase before you tap.

“5% cashback, ₹200 of cap left this month” — card advisor, illustrative
Manual-first
No bank link required
Income, expenses, budgets, and recurring transactions, logged by hand. V1 ships entirely free — no account-aggregation integration to depend on.
Which card should I use?
Card advisor
Add the cards you own and their reward rules; the app ranks them by effective reward for a spend category, accounting for remaining monthly caps.
FIRE math
A real calculator, not a rule of thumb
Safe-withdrawal and tax-drag projections toward financial independence, with region-aware rules planned for US and India retirement instruments.
Mobile + web
One backend, two clients
A .NET MAUI app for iOS and Android, backed by the same ASP.NET Core API as the web app — one source of truth for your numbers.
Privacy-minded
Field-level encryption, minimal data
Sensitive financial fields are AES-encrypted at rest. Card data is limited to last-4 and issuer — never a full card number.
Built for more than one market
Region-aware from the data model up
Currency-agnostic storage and a fiscal-year-aware reporting layer, so a US calendar year and an India April–March year both work correctly.
Roadmap

V1 is manual entry, the FIRE calculator, and the card advisor — proving the product before adding integrations. V2 adds bank sync, region by region.

1
V1 — manual tracking, FIRE calculator, card advisor
The core app: log income and expenses, set budgets, run recurring transactions, project your FIRE number, and get ranked card recommendations. Free, no bank connection required.
2
App store launch
iOS and Android release via a shared .NET MAUI codebase, with token-based auth so mobile clients don't depend on a browser session.
3
V2 — bank sync, region by region
Plaid for US/UK/EU accounts, and India's RBI-backed Account Aggregator framework for Indian banks — behind one pluggable provider interface, so the card advisor can read real transactions instead of a user-picked category.
